The new Waterfront di Levante is an urban and infrastructural redevelopment project covering an area of 115,000 square meters within the former exhibition district of Genoa. Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and OBR, the intervention is based on the excavation of new navigable canals, transforming the site into an artificial island connected to the city by new vehicular and pedestrian bridges. The masterplan includes the adaptive reuse of existing structures and the construction of new residential, commercial, and hospitality volumes, integrated with green areas and public pathways. The spatial layout is organized around a system of internal docks, providing direct waterfront frontage and visual continuity toward the open sea. The intervention also includes the renovation of the Palasport, the construction of a new waterfront arena, and the upgrading of road and building infrastructure systems.

After documenting the demolition of the former Fiera del Mare, the photographic project follows the functional phases of the construction site, which began in 2022 and is currently ongoing.
